Walmart Unveils Plans for Black Friday 2024: Here’s When You Can Expect Deals

Walmart is kicking off the holiday shopping season early with three Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events. Announced Monday, these events will offer shoppers multiple opportunities to snag deals leading up to the biggest shopping days of the year.

The first event kicks off online on Monday, Nov. 11, with early access at 12 p.m. ET for Walmart+ members and open access at 5 p.m. ET for all customers. In-store deals start Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 a.m. local time.

The second sale kicks off online on Monday, Nov. 25, with early access for Walmart+ members at 12 p.m. ET, followed by access for all shoppers at 5 p.m. ET. In-store shopping begins on Black Friday, Nov. 29, at 6 a.m. local time.

Finally, the third round launches Sunday, Dec. 1, with Walmart+ members getting early access at 5 p.m. ET and open access for everyone else at 8 p.m. ET, available online and in the Walmart app.

The company’s deals will span popular holiday categories like toys, tech, home goods, fashion, décor, and more. “Our Black Friday Deals events are designed to be a one-stop shop for incredible savings on the most sought-after items,” said Latriece Watkins, Walmart U.S. Executive VP and Chief Merchandising Officer, emphasizing the retailer’s commitment to holiday shoppers looking for value across all essentials.

Company Also Offering Half-Price Walmart+ Membership, Expands Delivery Hours

Walmart is rolling out a one-year Walmart+ membership for just $49, half its usual price, available through Dec. 2. This discounted membership gives customers perks like free delivery on millions of items, exclusive savings on dining, fuel, and travel, plus access to free video streaming.

Additionally, Walmart’s “Early Morning” delivery will kick off at 6 a.m., and their Express Delivery option will be available for items in as little as 30 minutes, making holiday shopping even more convenient.

Walmart Expands Use of Artificial Intelligence in Online Shopping Experience

Walmart announced it is expanding the beta test of its generative AI-powered shopping assistant to elevate the online shopping experience.

Walmart’s AI-powered shopping assistant is designed to help customers find and evaluate products tailored to their needs through engaging, conversational interactions.

By leveraging generative AI, Walmart aims to create a more personalized shopping experience on its website, anticipating the holiday content shoppers want to see during key sales events and throughout the season.

 This technology enhances how customers discover the best deals, making their shopping journey smoother and more enjoyable.
